We are pleased to announce that CICC is the founding association partner of the Outstanding Independents Awards Canada, a new national awards program, launched by Convenience Store News Canada (CSNC).
Independent retailers bring agility, deep local knowledge, and personal commitment to the communities they serve, yet they’re facing real challenges. Canada has lost nearly one in five convenience stores since 2016, with independents hit hardest, especially in rural and remote areas where they provide essential goods and stability.
This new-to-Canada annual awards program celebrates excellence in tenacity, innovation, differentiation, customer loyalty, profit-generating initiatives and more.
CICC is proud to support this program, shining a national spotlight on the entrepreneurs whose resilience, creativity and community impact deserve to be recognized.
The Outstanding Independents Awards Canada program is now accepting nominations.
Deadline for nominations: February 6, 2026.
